Bump

Two phones bump together, exchange contact info via NFC

The Problem

Exchanging contact info is awkward and error-prone

Current Solutions (Not Great)

Business cards (physical), typing numbers (errors), LinkedIn search (slow), QR codes (awkward)

Who Needs This

Conference attendees, networking events, sales professionals, anyone meeting new people

Exchanging contact info at events is awkward—spelling email addresses, typos, LinkedIn searches. Bump brings back the magic of the original Bump app but better: tap two phones together and both instantly have each other's contact info. AI generates a personalized connection note based on context (event name, conversation topics you mention). No QR codes, no typing, just a physical gesture that feels like a real connection.

Honest Take

Nostalgic throwback to the original Bump app, but Web NFC only works on Android Chrome which kills half your market. QR codes already solve this problem well enough (LinkedIn QR, NameDrop on iOS). Fun demo but limited real-world adoption potential.

Build Prompt
Use this prompt with an AI assistant to start building
Build a React PWA called 'Bump' using WebInfer and Web NFC API. UI: profile setup (name, email, phone, social links, photo), event context input, 'Ready to Bump' main screen, received contacts list. Use NDEFReader to write/read NFC. On bump detected: vibrate, exchange contact data as NDEF record. Show received contact with photo. Use generateObject to return { connectionNote: string, suggestedFollowUp: string, commonalities: string[] } based on both profiles and optional event context. 'Add to Contacts' exports as VCF. Contact history shows all bumps with timestamps and notes. Reminder notification for follow-up. Note: Web NFC has limited support (Android Chrome), so include QR fallback for iOS: generate/scan QR with same data format.
